KEIP: PROJECT GREEN

A Joint Initiative with KEIP led by Global Change Programme, Jadavpur University (GCP-JU)

KEIP: Project Green and Climate Responsible Lifestyle Initiative of GCP-JU aim at informing consumer’s ways and means to deliver climate good by increasing water use efficiency. It is in conformity with National Water Mission of NAPCC of Government of India.

“Cheapest way to water security and production is efficient consumption”

KEIP: Project Green is a unique initiative for water security through consumer participation in KMC area with research and knowledge support of Global Change Programme, Jadavpur University.

“Be A LEADER WATERWISE”: Know Your Water Share

KEIP: Project Green invites consumers to volunteer and participate in the project and get information, knowledge, skill and adopt practices to qualify for “LEADERS-WATERWISE’ certification.

1. Eligibility: Any citizen/ institution (educational institutions, hospitals, religious institutions, commercial units, others) within the Kolkata Municipal Corporation can participate to become a LEADER WATERWISE.

2. Time commitment: 24 hours spread over a 10 month period Oct 5, 2009 to July 30,2010.

3. Benefits of participation:

- Capacity building to become climate responsible consumer through efficient water use

- Option to choose the level of the programme for participation

- Award/Certification / rating under “LEADER WATERWISE” Programme.

- Free Membership of “CRLI-Project Green Water network”.

- Can become a Trainer in “LEADER WATERWISE” Programme

4. Responsibilities: Participant in ‘LEADER WATERWISE’ is expected to undertake

- Active participation in the listed activities

- Accounting for water use as per “know your water share” format and methodology
